DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Q3 Luncheon\n\n\n\n\n\nDATE: Thursday\, September 11\, 2025 \n\n\n\nTIME: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. \n\n\n\nLOCATION: Fogo De Chao – 1513 Wynkoop St\, Denver\, CO \n\n\n\nSPEAKER: Ron Miller\, Energy Industry Expert \n\n\n\nTOPIC: Fracking’s Impact on Energy Markets and the Environment \n\n\n\nDESCRIPTION: Since 2008\, an outstanding achievement in U.S. energy has occurred with barely a whisper from the news media. Electricity prices have plateaued to a very small annual growth rate\, while at the same time U.S. CO2 emissions have been on a downward trajectory. What is the reason for this monumental\, but un-noticed and un-celebrated change? In this article\, we will look at the three key positive impacts from fracking for the U.S.: 1) lower electricity price inflation rates\, 2) increased natural gas production and more stable gas pricing\, and 3) lower CO2 emissions. \n\n\n\nPricing\n\n\n\n\nMembers – $65\n\n\n\nNon-members – $75\n\n\n\nOn-site registration on September 11th is available for $85 to everyone (members and non-members). On-site registrations are space dependent and are not guaranteed a seat or a meal.\n\n\n\n\nKnow Before You Go\n\n\n\nLunch will be plated (Gluten-free or vegetarian options are available by pre-request. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Q2 Luncheon\n\n\n\n\n\nDATE: Thursday\, June 12\, 2025 \n\n\n\nTIME: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. \n\n\n\nLOCATION: Fogo de Chao\, 1513 Wynkoop St. Denver\, CO 80202 \n\n\n\nSPEAKER: Dan Olsen\, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at CSU \n\n\n\nTOPIC: Methane Emissions from Natural gas Engines and how to Mitigate Them \n\n\n\nDESCRIPTION: Natural gas (NG) engines are a critical component of the energy sector\, offering a cleaner alternative to traditional fuels. However\, methane emissions remain a challenge. Methane slip from internal combustion engines is relatively high owing to its low reactivity relative to other hydrocarbon fuels. Methane leakage from compressor packing vents\, blow-downs\, and other sources are also problematic. The focus of this talk is on engine compressor sets and integral compressors\, with an emphasis on lean burn engines. The sources of methane emissions are reviewed\, followed by a discussion of mitigation approaches. \n\n\n\nPricing\n\n\n\n\nMembers – $65\n\n\n\nNon-members – $75\n\n\n\nOn-site registration on June 12th is available for $85 to everyone (members and non-members).
